Have you ever wondered why Double Dip has so many liquids and Dip Nail Starter Kits that include a set of beautiful powders? 🧐

Dip Nail Starter Kit

Today we want to share with you the benefits of some of our products that you should have in your manicure dipping collection! Let’s jump right into the article!

Ā

Dip Bond

#1 Bonder

Ingredients: Ethyl Acetate, Methyl Propyl Ketone

Ā

Applied to dehydrate the nail bed during the preparing stage. This goes as the first step to preparing the nail to make sure that all the layers stick easily.Ā

Ā

This liquid helps to make your manicure nails last longer and allows the powder to stick cleanly on the nail bed and make for a tight seal between the dip powder and nail surface.

Ā

This is an awesome product for people who want to be meticulous for nail preparation or for those who tend to have oily nail beds. Always make sure to carefully close the bottle tightly to avoid losing or leaking the product.

Ā

Dip Base

#2 Base Coat

Ingredients: 2-Cyanoacrylate, Ethyl Acetate

Ā

Used to apply on the nail so that the dip powder can stick to the nail bed. Base coat is a must for a dipping manicure so that the adhesion would be sturdy between the dip powder and the natural nail.Ā

Ā

Important notes

If the Base Coat touches the bonder or activator, it will harden the brush and you need to place the brush immediately into the brush cleaner for reuse. Same as with the Top coat, do not close the bottle too tightly.Ā

Ā

This essential liquid product has a nail-glue-like formula and there is product left on the rim of the bottle, closing it too tight can cause the bottle to be glued shut. A way to prevent this is by cleaning the rim of the bottle once after every dip application before closing the top.

Ā

Since it is similar to nail glue in ingredients and chemical composition, this liquid is prone to drying out and very sensitive when other products are introduced to them. The result of not being careful when using this product can lead to some complications to your dip application.Ā

Ā

Dip Top

#4 Top Coat

Ingredients: 2-Cyanoacrylate, Ethyl Acetate

Ā

Top coat is applied twice if you want to achieve a shiny and glossy manicure finish. Sometimes a third coat is recommended for a more glossy finish. The top coat is used to adhere strongly to the powder and seals the dip powder for a long-lasting set. Always make sure to allow the activator to dry completely before putting the top coat on. If the activator is not completely dry, the top coat will harden and can clump. Do not place the hardened brush into the top coat bottle as this can contaminate the rest of the product. It can cause the product to be gooey or clumpy.Ā

Ā

Therefore, once you see the top coat brush has hardened, soak the brush into a brush cleaner for at least 15 minutes or more, if you wish to reuse the product again.Ā

Ā

For our liquids, nail resins like base coat and top coat are very sensitive to outside chemicals and can easily harden if it touches ingredients that are outside of powder and other nail resins. Such as a bonder or activator which has drying agents, can easily ruin the brushes due to their active ingredients.

Ā

Activator

#3 ActivatorĀ

Ā

Ingredients:Ethyl Acetate, Methyl Propyl Ketone, Methyl Isobutyl Ketone, N-N dimethyl-P-toluidine

Ā

This essential liquid is known to make the dip powder set to dry completely and become hard and strong. It is what seals the powder altogether. Without the activator, the powder will not be as strong and the top coat will not dry. The consistency of this essential product is similar to that of acetone and alcohol. This bottle can easily leak and evaporate, that’s why it’s best to always make sure to close the bottle tightly to avoid losing the product.

Ā

Brush Cleaner

#5 Brush Cleaner

Ingredients: Nitroethane, Butyl AcetateĀ

Ā

A great Brush Cleaner is an essential dip liquid that breaks down dip resins and nail glues. This liquid is used for cleaning brushes in between and during dip applications, and this is what will help make your hardened brushes become soft again. It cleans powders or resins so that you can reuse your brush for a clean and better dip manicure application.

Ā

Having a well-cleaned brush allows you to experience a more consistent and smooth dip application, a longer brush life, and better business practices if you choose to do dip services. Brush cleaner is strong enough to clean powder residue in between brush follicles, but it is also gentle enough to keep your bristles safe from drying or falling out. Regular use of brush cleaner will prolong the brush life and amazingly minimizes the spread of bacteria into your other products! Amazing right?

Ā
